Hi, I’m Miri! I’m a first-year CS PhD student at UIUC! Previously, I graduated from UCLA with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics, but I’m originally from Frederick, Maryland :) In my free time, I like doing crosswords, reading, translating poetry, and playing guzheng.
At UIUC, I’m currently working on measuring and harnessing scientific creativity with Professor ChengXiang Zhai and Professor Jiawei Han. At UCLA, I conducted undergraduate research under Professor Nanyun Peng in the PLUS Lab. I’ve also worked as a software engineering intern at Microsoft and Balyasny Asset Management.
